What's the Difference Between Counselling and Coaching?Professional coaching focuses on creating positive outcomes through identifying goals and managing personal change. Coaching is quite different from counselling. Therapy primarily deals with healing pain, dysfunction, and conflict either within an individual or in their relationships. In counselling, the focus is often on resolving difficulties arising from the past that hamper an individual's emotional functioning in the present; improving overall psychological functioning; and learning how to deal with the present in more emotionally healthy ways.
Coaching, on the other hand, supports personal and professional growth based on self-initiated change in pursuit of specific outcomes linked to personal or professional success. Although positive feelings and emotions are a natural outcome of coaching, the primary focus is on creating actionable strategies for achieving specific outcomes in one's personal or professional life. The emphasis in a coaching relationship are on action, accountability, and follow-through, with the coach supplying supportive, discovery-based approaches, and frameworks to facilitate solutions. If You're Looking for More than Just an Accountability Partner, You're in the Right Place.

“The benefits of coaching appear to win over even the most cynical clients within just a few weeks.” — INDUSTRY WEEK Typical Reasons People Seek Coaching:
“Coaching helps people in three ways: First, no one gets listened to in life. A coach does listen and allows leaders to reflect about their decisions, and about themselves. Second, people usually avoid difficult truths. Coaching brings reality front and center. Third, people don’t know how to change. A coach can guide a client to find replacements for behavior that’s not working” – 2011 Sherpa Coaching Report |

"...In many ways I felt my current business opportunities fell in my lap but I should give us both more credit than that. Clearly you helped me gain enough confidence to negotiate [private outcome]... Whilst I'm hardly a guru at confrontation now, I can honestly say I am less concerned about confrontation with others when it occurs...Upon reflection, it is very easy to draw a correlation between the things we discussed and many of the decisions I have made since. So thanks again on all fronts for the positive impact you've had on my life." ~ M.D., 47
